A team has a goal. As a team leader, I am the one assigned to direct, delegate and decide about the tasks of each team members. If we’re not heading towards our goal, it means we’re doing something wrong. This is crucial, sometimes as a leader, I can’t see that we’re going far from our target goal… As part of initial guide, I told our team that if something goes wrong along the way, they should tell me. If I didn’t listen, ask someone else and together they’d tell it to me. If they believe that it’s really important that I should listen to them, at all cost it is their job to tell me until I listen to them. As a leader, it is painful in the beginning to accept corrections. As a leader, I slowly learn that it is part of the process in order to get the goal. The leader must be open for corrections. As a leader, I realized team members are the people who constantly remind me if we’re heading to the right direction. It is not me, it is the collective effort of each part of the team to respect, understand, be open for correction and be open for change.
I thank the people within our team. They’re the best.
